Lungo uno dei percorsi della Via Francigena, fra boschi di lecci e querce, sorge l’Eremo di San Leonardo al Lago, così ricordato negli antichi documenti per la presenza di un lago prosciugato nel XVIII secolo. esiste ancora, ed è visitabile, il tunnel sotterraneo realizzato per far defluire le acque del lago. Per celebrare le decennali opere di bonifica del Pian del Lago, il Granduca Leopoldo I fece erigere un obelisco alla fine del XVIII secolo; il luogo è noto come ‘la Piramide’
